This project was the practical solution to my need for a portable pumping station since I do not have a fixed brewing rig (currently). Since I needed a case and mounting plate for my pump, I decided to dual purpose the solution and make an easy carrying/storage case for some of my brew day small items.

From the front, you can see the simplicity of the design.  I took a $7 Lowes toolbox, and cut a hole in the side to externally mount the March pump head, and internally mount the March pump motor.  I also added an on/off 2 pole switch to the front for pump control.

This is a basic interior shot of the rig without the standard inside tray in place. The pump is sitting on a 3 inch 2X4 to allow proper spacing for the styling recesses on the side of the toolbox. These recesses prevented from mounting the pump lower as they tapered inward towards the bottom.

Another shot of the inside of the toolbox, this time with the interior tray in place. This tray allows easy storage of misc. brew day items.

As an added bonus of the toolbox I bought, the lid also houses several storage compartments which I happily filled with more small brew day toold and items. This is a picture of the lid closed, but the smaller doors on the lid compartments opened.

One final shot of the neat and tidy wire management. I just took two coat hooks and mounted them to the toolbox to allow easy wire wrapping.

One very important note, this rig is always plugged into a GFI outlet when in use.
